LOUISE BROOM HOOD

Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2012, Louise Broom Hood, 94, of the Grantham community, moved to her heavenly home.
Louise was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Louise was born in Rowan County Oct. 25, 1918, to the late Hiram Ellis Broom and Rosa Jane Hargett Broom. She was married to the late Billy Grantham Hood.
Louise was a longtime member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. She was devoted to her church, a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday school class, and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
Through the years with her family and many friends, she had a patient, caring, understanding and open mind, found wonderful conversation thereby giving as well as receiving great love.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Falling Creek Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Dr. Billy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Linda Forsythe and husband, Robert, of Crawfordville, Fla., and Kathy Thornton and husband, Harold, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Wesley Thornton and wife, Brenda, Haley Thornton, Morgan Forsythe and Jordan Forsythe and wife, Kristy; and her great-grandchildren, Asher, Eleni and Thea Forsythe.
She is also survived by her special caregiver and buddy, Jane Steill.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary McCall, and four brothers, Albert Broom, Otis Broom, Glenn Broom and Bill Broom.
