Ella Staggers, 89, of Kenly died Tuesday at Wil-Med Nursing facility in Wilson.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Church of Christ in Smithfield. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma. A visitation will be held today from 4 until 8 p.m. at Temple of Praise Church in Kenly. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
She was born to the late Arthur and Louize Pendergrass in Williamburg, S.C. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry D. Staggers Sr.
Seven children survive.
The family is being served by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Community Funeral Home.
