HARVEY L. SMITH

PRINCETON -- Harvey L. Smith, 78, Herring Road near Princeton, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012.
Born in Wayne County March 27, 1934, he was the son of the late Hal G. and Ethel Worrell Smith. His wife was the late Myrtle Fitzgerald Smith.
Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by a sister, Shelby S. Christophers.
He graduated from Pikeville High School in 1952, and attended Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. in Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens, 4822 Bizzell Grove Church Road in Princeton.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Surviving are a son, Joseph L. Smith of Tennessee; sisters, Myde Howell of Goldsboro, Mary Pelt and husband, D.J., of LaGrange and Brenda Cox and husband, Kenneth, of Goldsboro; stepsons, Elbert Fitzgerald and wife, Emmie, of Princeton and Sammy Fitzgerald of Princeton; stepdaughters, Jennie Smith and husband, Buck, of Princeton and Jennifer Holt and husband, Jay, of Selma; and several nieces and nephews.
