PRINCETON -- Carlotta Joyner Jones, 91, 1105 Old Rock Quarry Road, died Monday evening.
She was born Sept. 4, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Randolph and Mertie Daniels Joyner.
She was the widow of Johnnie Albert Jones.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Daniel Thornton Jr.; sister, Louise Brown; and brothers, Wilemence Joyner and C. R. Joyner.
Ms. Jones was once a foreman at Carolina Packers.
Private graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Hills of Neuse Cemetery in Smithfield.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Connie Mitchell and husband, Dennis, of Princeton and Dianne Fletcher and husband, Rudy, of Smithfield; daughter-in-law, Jackie Thornton of Smithfield; great-grandchildren, Christie Woodard and husband, Brooke, Brian Mitchell, Brad Fletcher and Danielle Fletcher; and sisters, Lillian Raynor of Grantham, Dansalene Uzzell of Goldsboro and Mary Hill of Hillsborough.
The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
