ELIZABETH PARKS JACKSON

Elizabeth Parks Jackson, 77, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Sister," 1305 E. Elm St., departed her earthly life peacefully Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at her residence.
"Sister" was born in Wayne County June 28, 1934, to the late Dora Wynn Parks and Jay Gould Parks.
Elizabeth was educated in the public schools of Wayne County. She graduated from Dillard High School in the class of 1952.
Mrs. Jackson worked faithfully, and retired from Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro after 30 years of service.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Jackson; two brothers, John T. Parks and Emanuel "Bud" Parks; and a sister, Sudie Parks Purvis.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Faith United Holy Church, 1603 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, with bishop Raveion Moses officiating. Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, 2929 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.
A public viewing will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends and other family members from 5 to 6 p.m.
Mrs. Jackson leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her son, Rodney Michael Parks; her daughter, Tamara Joy Jackson; two stepsons, Johnny Orlando Jackson and wife, Judy, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Calvin Bell and wife, Bonnie, of Winston-Salem; a brother, Samuel L. Parks; a very special friend and caregiver, Bernice Crawford; a special 4-year-old friend, Tamia Grace Austin; a special family friend and helper, Martina Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1305 E. Elm St., Goldsboro, where family and friends will assemble one hour prior at 11:50 a.m. to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
