James Anthony Hodges, 57, lovingly known by his family and friends as "June," 3025 Thoroughfare Road, Goldsboro, departed his earthly life peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

"June" was born in Wayne County April 28, 1954, to the late Thelma Leftdwrige Howell and James E. Hodges.

James attended the public schools in Wayne County.

His work experiences moved him to work with Dodge City Dealership and later in his life, he worked in the construction industry.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, with bishop James Leftdwrige officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St., Goldsboro.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m.

James leaves to celebrate and cherish his loving memories his stepfather, Hugh Howell of Goldsboro; three brothers, Leonard Hodges and wife, Shirley, of Goldsboro, Jimmy Leftdwrige of Arizona and Kenneth Howell of Greenville; five sisters, Ethel Best of Goldsboro, Dorrina White and Beatrice Robinson and husband, Mike, of Durham, Hilda Elliott and husband, John, of Omaha, Neb., and Shirley Kenion of Pikeville; an uncle, bishop James Leftdwrige and wife, Mary, of Selma; two aunts, Mary Leftdwrige and Louise Leftdwrige both of Goldsboro; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special friend, Blender Ross of Durham.

At other times, the family will receive friends at Mrs. Ethel Mae Best's residence, 210 Randall Lane, Goldsboro, where family and friends will assemble one hour prior to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
