FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Charles B. Forehand, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fla.
Charles was born in Wayne County Nov. 11, 1932, to the late Luther G. Forehand and Ella Gardner Forehand.
He retired from Textilease after 35 years of service.
Charles was a member of Pike's Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as the choir director for 23 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center at Pike's Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Merrill Davis officiating. The family will gather Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park for a committal service.
Charles is survived by his wife of 33 years, Doris Crawford Forehand; his daughters, Susan Gurley and husband, Art, Sandy Gregory and husband, Robbie, Sherry Pate and husband, Gary, Jeane Anderson and husband, Bill, and Leigh Jones and husband, Scott; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, the Rev. Jimmy Forehand and wife, Helen, of Kinston, and his sisters, Kathryn Goff of Goldsboro and Carolyn Castania and husband, Ken, of Fremont.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at the church, and other times at the home of Sandy and Robbie Gregory, 912 New Daniels Chapel Road, Fremont.
