MILDRED R. DEATON

Mildred Rawls Deaton, 89, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mildred was born in Martin County June 5, 1922, to the late Guy Rawls and Pearl Whichard Rawls. She was married to the late Thomas N. Deaton Sr.
Mildred was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and her family was her biggest enjoyment in life.
She worked at Belk's Department Store for more than 25 years.
Mildred was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and in recent years attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Mount Olive Pentecost Holiness Church, with the Rev. Doug Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mildred is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Quita and Frank Clifton of Mount Olive, Janice and Allen Sutton of Chesapeake, Va., and Sandie and Rick Gambill of Mooresville; her son, Tom Deaton Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Loyd Rawls, Guy Rawls Jr. and John Rawls of Goldsboro, and her sister, Helen Rawls Jackson.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
