MOUNT OLIVE -- Adolph Anderson, 84, Rones Chapel community, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, at Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late Herman Anderson and Minnie Hines Anderson.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he farmed in Duplin County, and was the former owner and operator of Anderson's General Store.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Nellie Thompson Anderson of the home; three children and their spouses, Barbara Anderson Kelley and Donald Kelley of Calypso, Wayne Anderson and Kay Hudson Anderson of Mount Olive and Gail Anderson Warren and Kenneth Warren Jr. of Faison; six grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Patrick Gooding, Cheryl and Steve Strickland, Tony and Mary Beth Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Dana and Roy Creech and Michael and Jessica Warren; seven great-grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca and Justin Graham, Courtney and Andy Muncy, Stephanie Strickland, Morgan Anderson, Isaac Davis, Sophia Coburn and Anna Gail Creech; and a great-great-grandson, James Graham.

Mr. Anderson is also survived by his siblings and their spouses, Durwood and Betty Lee Jackson Anderson of Goldsboro, Kenneth and Betty Price Anderson, Sue Anderson Head and Billy Ray and Sheila Bell Anderson all of Mount Olive and Kenneth and Portia Bass Anderson of Faison.

Three sisters-in-law and their spouses include Susan Jackson, Mary Ann Holliday and Peggy and Al Percy.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Anderson, and a sister, Dorothy Anderson Kelly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Tyndall Funeral Home with pastor Doug Bartlett and pastor Jeff Dail officiating, and with his brother, Kenneth, sharing special family remembrances.

Visitation will be immediately after the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence.

Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Wayne Memorial Park. Pastor Bobby Smith will officiate, and military honors will be rendered.
