SADIE JEAN ADAMS

Sadie Jean Adams, 91, passed away Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Sadie was the daughter of the late Saley S. and William H. Adams of Goldsboro.
She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. Dec. 1, 1981, after 411/2 years of service.
Sadie was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, which was the former Pilot Club of Goldsboro, and Goldsboro Chapter No. 54 Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a past worthy matron.
She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro since 1932.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Drew Clark and the Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Summerlin Family Cemetery.
Sadie is survived by two nieces, Beverly Adams Harvey and husband, George E. Harvey Jr., and Melanie Adams; two nephews, David Bryant Adams and wife, Ceacila, and William Robert "Bobby" Adams and wife, Gina; great-niece, Christina Adams; three great-nephews, Bryce B. Adams, George E. Harvey III and Ashley D. Harvey; and also 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Adams and David J. Adams.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
