DUDLEY -- Ms. Bernice Sanders, 78, 144 Boseman Lane, Dudley, graciously departed her life Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Bernice was born in Wayne County Oct. 5, 1932, to the late Willie Mae Sanders and John Henry Williams.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey S. Sanders, and he was lovingly known as "Boy Blue."
Mother Bernice was a faithful member at Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 602 S. Wooten St., LaGrange, with bishop Dr. J.E. Reddick officiating. Interment will follow in Rockford Church Cemetery, 5782 Rockford Church Road, LaGrange.
A public viewing will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.
Mother Bernice is survived by her loving children Earnest J. Saunders of the home, Ada Cooper and husband, Marshall, of Dudley, Linda Williamson of LaGrange, Clarence Sanders and wife, Peggy, of Dudley, Sylvester Sanders of Goldsboro, minister Viola Hines and husband, Frank, of LaGrange and Johnnie Sanders and wife, Pam, of Birmingham, Ala.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1061 Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley, where it will also assemble Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
