Clarence Smith Sr., 86, died Saturday at his residence.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery, with pastor Tom Dorman officiating.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Bartemus Smith and Katie Bell Dixon Smith. He was also preceded in death by a son, Clarence Smith Jr., and a sister, Kathleen Barwick.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Naomi F. Smith; a son, Riley Neil Smith of the home; brothers, Eugene Smith, Relma "Smitty" Smith, William E. Smith; sisters, Louise Shepperd, Josephine Holland; three grandchildren, Clarence Smith III, Debbie Lynn Schmidt, Jamie Smith Tutor; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family members will greet friends this evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
