FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Mr. James Morris Daughtry, 60, formerly of Newton Grove, N.C., entered into his eternal rest Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
James was born in Dunn July 19, 1951, to Blanche and Sylvester Daughtry.
James attended North Carolina A&T State University, and graduated with honors earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration in 1973.
He spent 22 successful years with McDonald's Corp. He became a McDonald's franchisee in June 2001 forming The Good Food Group Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Daughtry; daughter, Ayana Edgar (Burt); sons, Jemond Daughtry (Crystal) and Jabari Daughtry; four sisters, Shirley Temple Daughtry, Peggy Salters, Margaret Bennett and Wanda Joan Boykin; two brothers, Sylvester Daughter Jr. and Joseph Daughtry; six grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be at Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Church headquarters in Newton Grove from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Church headquarters in Newton Grove, with pastor Dale Jones Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma , N.C.
