CARY -- William Brian Umstead, 30, of Cary died unexpectedly Monday.
He was born in Siler City on Aug. 7, 1981, and was a 2001 graduate of
Apex High School. He is survived by his parents, John Roberts Umstead Jr. (Bob) and Sandra Ray Umstead of Cary; his sister, Charlotte Manning Umstead of Raleigh; his grandparents, Frank Joyner and Martha Ray Joyner of Goldsboro and John Roberts Umstead and Pamela Bray Umstead of Durham. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Durwood Ray of Goldsboro and Charlotte Umstead Able of Durham.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Cary. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue-Donation, 5613 Old Ridge Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27610.
