RICHARD ARNOLD KANTZER

"Dick," 90, passed peacefully to his Sabbath rest with his family by his side July 13, 2011.
A celebration of his life will be held at Goldsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1000 E. Mulberry St., Friday, July 22, at 5 p.m. Funeral will be at 7 p.m.
Born in Peru, Ind., in 1921, he was the youngest of five children, the son of the late John and Sophia Kantzer.
As part of the greatest generation, he served from 1942 to 1946 in World War II. Honorably discharged as a sergeant with the 1110th Army Postal Unit, he served in France and Germany until after the war.
In 1950, he graduated from Emmanuel Missionary College (Andrews University) in Berrien Springs, Mich., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, business and German.
He worked as a literature evangelist selling Bible story books in this area for 55 years.
In 1963, he was married to Betty, and together they enjoyed many travels across the USA and Europe, had two children and owned many dogs along the way.
For 40 years, he served his church as head elder. His faith in God was unwavering, truly letting his light shine.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Betty; his children, Philip (Steffi) and Melody (Dennis) Stoerzinger; grandchildren, Logan, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Hania and Iona; and many, many friends.
