Hubert "Tip" Edmundson Jr., 81, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011.
"Tip" was raised by William and Rosa Lee Browder Radford.
"Tip" was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Smith Edmundson, and three children, Paulette Butts, Ronnie Edmundson and Paul Scott Edmundson.
"Tip" was a retired dairy farmer. He enjoyed NASCAR, wrestling, chewing cigars, a cold Dr Pepper and a Moon Pie, but most of all cherished time spent with his family.
A service of remembrance was held Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elbert Hollowell, the Rev. Juanita Hollowell and W.L. Britt officiating. Interment was Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Cobb Cemetery.
"Tip" is survived by seven children, Brenda Williams and husband, Ralph, of Goldsboro, Mary Carter and husband, Frog, of LaGrange, Judy Morris of Dudley, Roger Edmundson and wife, Kathy, of Seven Springs, Donna Howell and husband, Buddy, of Snow Hill, Patsy Futrelle and husband, Tony, of Pikeville and Lori Wells of Mount Olive; daughter-in-law, Pat Edmundson of Richmond, Va.; son-in-law, Willie Butts of Seven Springs; brother, James Edmundson of Mount Olive; sister, Ruby Gotschalk of New Bern; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family received friends Tuesday following the service of remembrance, and at other at the home of Patsy and Tony Futrelle, 127 Falcon Drive in Pikeville.
