SIDNEY W. CHASE

SNOW HILL -- Mr. Sidney Wayne "Bud" Chase, 76, passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2010, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A native of Greene County, Bud was born March 26, 1934, the son of Sidney and Blanche Thomas Chase.
Bud was active in the Shine community of Greene County, where he was a longtime member of Shine Fire Department, and attended Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
He had retired from Firestone in Wilson, and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Terry Heath and the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating. Committal services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Snow Hill Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his siblings, Alease C. Lane, Mildred C. Hill and Billy Chase.
His surviving family includes his wife, Evelyn Johnson Chase of the home; sons, Mike Chase and wife, Sharon, of Snow Hill and Ritchie Chase and wife, Erin, of Ormondsville; grandchildren, Hunter Chase, Zack Chase and Taylor Chase; a sister, Elsie C. Skinner of Snow Hill; and brother, Jimmy Chase of Snow Hill.
The family would like to thank Bud's nieces, Pam Johnson and Sharon Gay, for their care and help through Bud's illness.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening following the service, and other times at the home of Mike and Sharon Chase, 2971 Gurganus Road, Snow Hill.
