MAGNOLIA -- Rufus Allen Glaspie Jr., 57, of 659 Oak St., Hillsborough, formerly of Magnolia, died Thursday at Duke University Hospital, Durham.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church. The Rev. John Melvin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Funeral Home Cemetery, Highway 903.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Thornton, of the home; his mother, Allie Pearl Glaspie of Magnolia; four daughters; and one stepdaughter.
A viewing will be held on Monday from 6 until 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home and at other times at 540 Isham Frederick Road.
