Eula B. Taylor Coley, 76, 286 Hare Road, was peacefully escorted by the angels to her eternal rest Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Wayne County to the late Van Dewey Taylor Sr. and Annie Edmondson Taylor. She attended the Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Pikeville Training School in 1963. She was employed by Barry's of Goldsboro before her retirement.

Eulogistic services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe A. Jackson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, Hwy. 117 S. A viewing will be held at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations today from 4 until 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m.

Fond memories will be cherished by her husband, Earnest H. Coley of the home; four daughters, Edna (Joseph) Hobbs of Eureka, Shirel C. Shepard and Beverly C. Best of Goldsboro and Rose Coley of Rockville, Md.; one son, Ronald L. Coley of Goldsboro; one sister, Eunice T. Smith of Jamaica, N.Y.; two brothers, Emerson Newsome and Van Dewey Taylor Jr., of Eureka; one aunt, Victoria Taylor of Virginia Beach, Va.; four sisters-in-law, Rematha Newsome of Eureka, Shirley (Leslie) Swain of Goldsboro, Hurley Dotton of Mauldin, Ma., and Sandra Thomas of Wilmington, Del.; three brothers-in-law, William (Ophelia) Coley of Williams Town, N.J., James (Harriett) Coley of Somerdale, N.J., and Maryland (Ellen) Coley of Stone Bridge, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
