Mabel Powell Bell, 88, long-time Goldsboro area resident, died Saturday.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive on Monday beginning at 2 p.m., with the funeral following in the Tyndall Chapel at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park. At other times, the family will be receiving at the Richard Lewis residence at 312 Cameron St. in Calypso.
Mrs. Bell was a retired sales clerk, having worked in several local department stores. A member of Goldsboro's St. Paul United Methodist Church, she was a native of Sampson County and was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary Powell, her two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet D. and Byard "Bobby" Kornegay Jr., of Mount Olive, and Jo Ann D. and the Rev. Richard "Dick" Lewis of Calypso; three grandchildren, Richard Lewis Jr. and wife, Lisa of Manteo, Ralph Michael "Mike" Lewis and wife, Ann, of Calypso, and Amy Lewis Evans and husband, Barry, of Kenansville; and five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Sidney, and Annsley Lewis, and Matthew Evans.
