PRESTON E. STRICKLAND

ASHEBORO -- Preston Elliot Strickland, age 41, of Asheboro, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, due to a work related accident.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 420 W. Walker Ave., Asheboro, N.C. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Preston was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Asheboro High School.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a United States Air Force veteran.
Preston loved fishing and was an avid relic hunter, who used his metal detector to locate and save historical relics. He was a member of Coastal Conservation Association and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife, Keri Yahnker Strickland; daughter, Lori Strickland of the home; son, Nathan Strickland of the home; parents, Kent and Judy Strickland of Asheboro; brother, Barry Strickland of Greensboro; and mother and father-in-law, Ed and Lee Yahnker of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, N.C. Memorials may be made in his honor to the charity of donor's choice.
