PRINCETON -- James Earl Braswell, 76, 406 S. Center St., Princeton, died Sunday, May 30, at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro.
He was born in Johnston County July 27, 1933, and was the son of the late Richard Milton and Dora Harper Braswell.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Casey Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock and the Rev. Gene Britt officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jamey Braswell, Michael Braswell, Jason Collins, Lee Collins, Tim Hobby and Eddie Poplin
He is survived by, wife, Faye Collins Braswell; son, Vance Earl Braswell and wife, Helen, of Wilson Mills; daughters, Belinda Braswell Rigdon of Princeton and Libby Braswell of Princeton; foster daughter, Phyllis Horton; two grandchildren, Jamey Braswell and wife, Brittney, of Clayton and Michael Braswell and wife, Megan, of Princeton; stepgrandchildren, Alex Strother and wife, Jenny of West Sinister, N.Y., and Blake Strother of Morehead City; a great-grandchild, Payton Braswell; three stepgrandchildren, Aiden Strother, Nathan Strother and Luke Strother; sister-in-law, Ann Collins Griffin of Princeton; brothers-in-law, Norman Collins and wife, Kathy, of Goldsboro, Donald Collins and wife, Willie Mae, of Pikeville and Barney Collins and wife, Caroline, of Springfield, Mo.; special friend, Jack Long of Pine Level; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
