MARCEDES KIRBY OLIVER

KENLY -- Marcedes Kirby Oliver, 87, died Friday. Marcie was born in Johnston County to the late W. Luther and Mattie Phillips Kirby.
Funeral services will be today at 4 p.m. at Kenly Free Will Baptist Church with visitation to follow in the fellowship hall.
She was married to Richard A. Oliver, who preceded her in death.
She worked as a nurse with Dr. Paul C. Bennett Jr., and retired after 30 years. Following her retirement, she was employed as a home patient care coordinator with Wayne Pharmacy.
Marcie was a long-time member of Kenly Free Will Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She was active in the Woman's Auxiliary for many years and received a life membership award.
Surviving are Richard "Ritchie" A. Oliver Jr., of Kenly; Randy K. Oliver and Carol of Selma; Shelia O. Gardner and Don of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Amy Burnett and Craig, Marla Massey and Reuben, Josh Pittman and Leigh, Elizabeth Hare and Lee; great-grandchildren, Katheryn Burnett, Reganne Pittman-Hare, KarLee Hare; sisters, Edith Hansley of Sneads Ferry, Merle Kirby and Bill of Wendell, Bobbie Holland and Preston, Jackie Flowers and Frank, both of Goldsboro; special friend, Raymond Shirley of Kenly. She was preceded in death by sister, Annie Mae Medlin.
