BEATRICE H. DAWSON

Beatrice H. Dawson, 96, passed away Tuesday at her home.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Willard Hardison. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Beatrice was born in Greene County Jan. 10, 1914, to the late Willie Head and Alice Ginn Head. She was married to the late Joseph Benjamin Dawson.
Beatrice had worked as a nursing assistant, and was a charter member of Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Beatrice is survived by her sons, Farrell Dawson and wife, Sandra, Shelton Dawson and fiancee´, Faye Taylor and Linwood Dawson all of Goldsboro; her daughter, Eleanor Pope of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren, Billy Dawson and wife, Carrie, Brad Dawson, Brian Dawson and wife, Frankie, Cindy Jackson and husband, Jay, Christie Wiggins and husband, Mike, Michael Dawson and wife, Hayley, Laura Gurley and husband, Pat, Jackie Pope and Tish Byerly, Eugene Pope, Stan Dawson and wife, Nancy, and Jerry Dawson and wife, Wanda; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; her brother, Billy Head of Snow Hill; and her sister, Faye Lane of Goldsboro.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rob Head, Waitus Head and Bailey Head; her sisters, Doris Smith and Gertrude Stocks; her daughter-in-law, Minnie Dawson; and her son-in-law, Gurney Pope.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
