GENEVA S. WOOD

LAGRANGE -- Geneva Smith Wood, 91, passed away Tuesday.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood was born July 6, 1918, in Edgecombe County to the late Abner and Clara Craft Smith.
She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and attended White Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wood is survived by five children, Emmitt W. Foss Jr. of New Bern, John R. Foss and wife, Phyllis, of LaGrange, Robert Earl "Bobby" Foss and wife, Debbie, of LaGrange, Terrance Fleming Foss and Kathy English of LaGrange, William J. "Simon" Wood of LaGrange; her canine companion, Rebel; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several special family friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt W. Foss; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Foss; and three brothers, Oscar, William and Johnny Smith.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times they will be at the home of John and Phyllis Foss, 4517 Bear Creek Road in LaGrange.
