LAGRANGE -- Jimmy Eugene Herring Sr., 70, passed away Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 at the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mount Olive ward, with bishop Richard Brown conducting. Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy E. "Squinkie" Herring Jr. and wife, Roxann, of Mount Olive; two daughters, Teresa H. Sasser and husband, Robert, of Warsaw and Polly H. Harris and husband, Mark, of Albertson; two sisters, Shirley Stroud of Raleigh and Rose Davis of Deep Run; two brothers, Bobby Allen Herring of Mount Olive and Ken Herring of Mount Olive; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Herring was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Herring and Katie Belle Lynn Herring; a brother, Theodore "Bozie" Herring Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy H. Jackson.
Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Jimmy and Roxann Herring, 432 Alum Springs Road in Mount Olive.
