ANDREW "JACK" COLEY

Andrew "Jack" Coley, son of the late George B. Coley and Annie Pauline Exum was born Nov. 5, 1914, in Pikeville and departed this life Monday at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
The celebration of life services for Mr. Coley will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Spirit Church Ministries, 1501 N. William St. in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Fairley Sr. officiating. A memorial visitation will be held at the church one hour prior. Following the services honoring the life and legacy of Mr. Coley, his earthly sheath and the precious family that he has left behind will be escorted to Hooks Grove Cemetery in Pikeville for interment rites. There his corporeal temple will remain until the day of declaration, yet his spiritual being will reunite with those that have departed before him.
His childhood days were spent in the Pikeville area, where he attended the public schools.
At an early age he worked for Peacock and Rose Mill Co. in Fremont.
He joined Shady Grove Church in 1953, where he attended faithfully until his health began to decline.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, a brother, John L. Coley of Goldsboro; brother-in-law, Roscoe Reid (Robbie) of Philadelphia, Pa.; sister-in-law, Rosa Colbert (Joseph) of Newark, N.J.; godson, Willie Jones (Doris) of Dudley; goddaughter, Bonnie Hill of Fremont; a special niece, Jacquelyn Taylor of Goldsboro; two special nephews, Lendell Williams and Robert (Bob) Coley both of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Esther Reid Coley; two brothers, George Coley Jr. and James Lee Coley; and three sisters, Luberta Langston, Mary Fields and Ruth Williams.
