MOUNT OLIVE -- Sudie T. Morton, 88, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery.
Born in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Washington Leon and Mary Cobb Tyson.
Mrs. Morton is survived by her children, Jewel Lambert of Mount Olive, Thomas Morton of LaGrange, Mary Ellen Jones of Vanceboro and Betty Hughes of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Morton, and her great-granddaughter, Brianna Lambert.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
