SUE VAN MEIR

Sue Lawrence Van Meir, 72, 502 Sherwood Ave., died Monday with her family by her side at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, U.S. 70 west in Goldsboro, with deacon Webster A. James will officiate.
Mrs. Van Meir enjoyed modeling, collecting frogs and roosters. In addition, she loved to travel to new places, go sightseeing and spending time with family.
She previously served time in the Air Force and she and her husband were owners of the Mr. Deli Sub Stop, which was located on Berkeley Boulevard.
Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Marvin P. Van Meir, sons; Ronald J. Van Meir (Verna) of California, Robert F. Van Meir (Sara) of Goldsboro and Terry W. Van Meir of Pikeville; a brother, Everett Lawrence of Neosho, Mo.; a sister, Treva Kennedy of Neosho, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Christopher Van Meir, Sarah Sprague, Shannon Van Meir, Alexandra Van Meir and her mother, Lori of Goldsboro, Alisha Van Meir and Slyvia Van Meir of Calif.
Sue was preceded in death by her son, David L. Van Meir, and her beloved her dog, Angel.
Arrangements are by Evergreen Memorial Service Goldsboro.
