James Edward Jackson, 76, died Monday.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Interment will be Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson served in the United States Army and was a sergeant in the police department in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Helen B. Jackson; daughters, Paula Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Terri Mayo of Houston, Texas, Tina Scarborough of Selma and Dee Overman of Dudley; sisters, Shirley Mills of Goldsboro, Brenda Balance of Kenly and Linda Quinn of Warsaw; brothers, Leslie Jackson of Kinston, Gene Jackson of Goldsboro, Gerald Jackson of Mount Olive, Kenneth Jackson of Louisiana and Joe Jackson of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
