MELFORD L. SIMMS JR.
Died Oct. 15, 2009
DALTON, Ga. -- Melford L. Simms Jr. (also known as "Shoe Doctor" or "Flash"), 65, passed away Oct. 15.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Willis Funeral Home, with bishop Reuben Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Mr. Simms was born in Goldsboro and was a retired United States Air Force veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Jerry Simms of Goldsboro; one sister, Betty A. (Warner) Crayton of Temple Hills, Md.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melford L. Simms Sr. and Mattie L. Hall Simms.
Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home Inc. in Dalton, Ga.
