Eliza Wells Odom, 87, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Eunice Sasser Wells, wife of the late Charlie B. Odom Sr., and mother of the late Wilbert Odom. She was a member of Pike's Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Odom is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Harold Braswell of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Royce and Karen Odom of Goldsboro, Roland and Karen Odom of Douglasville, Ga., James and Amanda Odom of Goldsboro, Robert and Linda Odom of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ida Odom of Goldsboro; one sister, Virginia Glover of Goldsboro; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Family members will greet friends this evening from 7 until 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home, 1426 Claridge Nursery Road, Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Pike's Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2494 Pike's Crossroads Road, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.
