Jerry Wayne Sandusky, 38, 405 Airle Place, passed away Wednesday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate the life of Jerry Wayne will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Claire C. McKeown officiating.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Jerry was the son of Sam and Shirley Reno Sandusky of The Villages, Fla.
Jerry Wayne graduated from Speck Howards College of Broadcasting. He began his career in broadcasting at radio stations in Florida and Michigan. In 1994, he moved to North Carolina and became host of the Breakfast Club at 107.9 WNCT and in 2004 he became host of The Morning Show. Jerry was presently serving as director of programming for Beasley Broadcasting.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Rexanne, and daughter, Anna Smith of Goldsboro; brothers, Sammy Sandusky and Craig Sandusky of Detroit, Mich.; his grandmother, Sally Reno of Detroit, Mich.; a special aunt, Linda Bertram of Detroit, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special K-9 friend, Abby.
