Theodore "Boozie" Best, 79, 3000 Thoroughfare Road, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
The funeral service will be held Friday at noon at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. in Goldsboro, with pastor Betty Spruill officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery on Central Heights Road.
Mr. Best is survived by two sons, Charles (Lisa) Braswell of Goldsboro and Theodore (Kim) Best Jr. of Fort Washington, Md.; four daughters, Kathleen (Ernest) Brinkley of Dover, Del., Deborah (Rick) Ivy of Charlotte, Francis (Jeff) Gaffney of San Antonio, Texas, and Terry Best of Goldsboro; one brother, Beatrice (Barbara) Best of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Etheleen Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sarah (Edward) Dees of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; two very special friends, Jessie Hamm and Matt Lee; special caregiver and friend, Earneshia, and daughters, Amiah and Kyla Pridgen; and two special sisters-in-law, Grace and Bettie Spruill.
The body may be viewed Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his son, Charles Braswell, 108 Jacobs Ridge Drive in Goldsboro.
