DORIS B. FARMER

NICEVILLE, Fla. -- Doris Bradshaw Farmer, 81, went home to be with the Lord Sept. 12.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial took place at Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Earnest and Lossie Belle Eason Bradshaw.
During her last days it is only befitting as a living testimony to her life that her last meal would be sharing the sacrament of The Lord's Supper with her husband and children.
Doris retired from the Goldsboro City Schools where she served as an administration assistant. She was a past member of the North Carolina Association of Education office personnel and a member of the women's auxiliary of Gideons International.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by her husband, James Herbert Farmer; a son, Glenn Farmer and wife, Jeannie, of Niceville, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Evans and husband, Skip, of Niceville, Fla., and Claudia Russell and husband, David, of Dudley; brother, Lee R. Bradshaw of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Veronica Grice of Sumter, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Gideons International for memorial Bibles.
