Charlie Marie Langston Brooks, 85, of 406 S. Oak Forest Road, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. John Dutton officiating.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Travis County, Texas, to Charley Langston and Mary Bertie Smith Langston. She was a retired telephone operator in Arkansas and New York City. Mrs. Brooks was also a homemaker. She was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Wallace Brooks; her daughter, Shari Eason of Goldsboro; her son, Timothy Brooks and wife, Annette, of Hampstead; her sister, Mary Joe Lawrence of Batesville, Ark.; her grandchildren, Candace Pillips and husband, Nathan, and Madison Pinkowski and her great-grandchildren, Michael Phillips and Kyra Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, NC 27533.
