SAM WEBB

Samuel Nash Webb, 85, passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Patetown Church of God, with the Rev. Davin Phillips and the Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
Sam was born in Edgecombe County March 4, 1924, to the late Newett Samuel Webb and Clarice Bell Watkins Webb.
He was a retired supervisor with Textilease. Sam also ministered in the rest home ministry serving at Woodard's Care in Goldsboro. He was a member of Patetown Church of God and had served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Sam is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley P. Webb; his sons, Wayne Webb of Washington, D.C., Ronnie Webb of Goldsboro and Tony Webb of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Donnie Ray Webb and wife, Carol, of Virginia, Justin Webb and wife, Barbara, of Greenville and Ted Webb and wife, Faye, of Tarboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Durwood Webb.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
