LEXINGTON, S.C. -- Lila Newkirk Jeter, 73, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday at Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Philadelphia Community Church, with pastor Roger Taylor Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, U.S. 117 south.
Mrs. Jeter is survived by a daughter, Edith Weston of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Korwaski Newkirk of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel Newkirk of Portsmouth, Va., and Elbert Wilson of St. Albans, N.Y.; a sister, Sarah (Johnnie) Pearson of Goldsboro; one aunt, Queen Borden of Newburgh, N.Y.; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
There will be a public viewing Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
