CHARLESTON, S.C. -- George Vernon Pilkington, 74, passed away Wednesday in Charleston.
A private service will be held in Charleston, S.C., and a memorial service will be held in the mountains of North Carolina.
Mr. Pilkington was born March 15, 1935.
He is survived by one son, Duane Pilkington of Goldsboro; two daughters, Teresa Lane and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro and Amanda Peacock and husband, Ervin, of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
