GORDON H. LEWIS

STRASBURG, Va. -- Gordon Henry Lewis died Monday surrounded by the love of his family.
A private graveside service for the family will be held Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park followed by a public memorial service at 11 a.m. at Goldsboro Friends Meeting, 700 Guilford St. The family will receive friends following the service at the meeting house.
Gordon is survived by his daughters, K. Anne Lewis of Round Hill, Va., and Betsy Lewis Snow and husband, Curtis, of Winchester, Va.; his son, William Gordon Lewis and wife, Kathy, of Wilson; his grandsons, Joseph Gordon Lewis Volk, William Robert Lewis, Joshua Duane Lewis and Lewis Edward Snow; and Bo Snow.
His beloved wife, Lillian Edgerton Lewis, predeceased him in 2003.
He was a member of Wayne Masonic Lodge and Goldsboro Friends Meeting. He retired from Carolina Welds in 1983. Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lillian Edgerton Lewis and Gordon H. Lewis Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund at North Carolina Nurses Association, P.O. Box 12025, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
