ROBERT JEFFERS SR.

Robert Jeffers, 85, of 137 Griswold Lane, Dudley, died Friday at his residence in Dudley after many years of declining health.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2114 N. Berkeley Blvd. The Rev. Antonia Lawrence will officiate. A viewing will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Budd Family Cemetery (Griswold Gardens) on Brewington Road, Dudley.

He was born the third of six children to the late Celia Alexandra and Samuel Jeffers in Raleigh. All of his siblings preceded him in death. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Army Reserves.

Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Gloria Griswold Jeffers; one son, Robert Jeffers Jr. and wife, Nora, and a devoted daughter, Linda Jeffers Arrington and husband, Wayne; and three cherished grandchildren, Cecilia, Wayne Jr., and Kendra Arrington; and other relatives and friends.

One son, David Keith Jeffers, preceded him in death.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Talton and the staff of Mount Olive Medical Center, Dr. John V. Kaspar and the staff of Wayne Urological Associates and his caregiver, Eltima Gonzales for their dedication and caring; also, the 3HC hospice nursing staff for their remarkable care, and all the friends who came to see Robert, and those who expressed their concern about his health. We shall be forever grateful.
