EDNA H. MARTIN
April 15, 1932-March 4, 2009
Edna Howell Martin of the Grantham Community went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
She was born in Johnston County on April 15, 1932, to the late Walter Samuel and Ella Hicks Howell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bowden Martin; one son, Walter Martin; a grandson, Jamie Martin; and a brother, Rudolph Howell.
She is survived by three sons, Billy Martin and wife, Kay, of Clinton, Gary Martin and wife, Debbie, of Atkinson and Larry Martin and wife, Sandy, of Grantham; two stepchildren, George Frank-lin Martin and Judy Tucker; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Martin of Goldsboro; three brothers, Billy Ray Howell and wife, Patsy, J.R. Howell and wife, Ruby, and Howard Howell; five sisters, Olive Mae Gravitt, Patricia Crawford and husband, Glenn, Joyce Ruth Nemec and husband, Bob, Linda Kay Williamson and Allene Vogen; her grandchildren, Walter Anthony Martin Jr. and wife, Rhonda, Traci Martin Barefoot and husband, Scott, Leslie B. Martin, Adam Martin, Michelle Martin, Justin Martin and Sherry Martin; and her great-grandchildren, Haley Ann Martin, Nicholas Martin, Skylar James Martin, Marissa Martin, Kayde Brook Martin and Graci Jean Barefoot.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends following the service Friday evening and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Martin, 494 Selah Church Road, Grantham.
