COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. -- Bobby Ray Casey, 74, a native of Grantham, died at 7:56 a.m. on Wednesday at Miller's Merry Manor in Columbia City, Ind., where he had been a resident since Oct. 16, 2006.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Falling Creek United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. in the cemetery of Falling Creek United Methodist Church.

He was born July 12, 1934, in Wayne County, son of Raymond Herman and Lorena May (Taylor) Casey. His formative years were spent in Grantham. He graduated from Grantham High School in 1952.

In 1967, he moved to Churubusco, Ind. He then moved to Phoenix, Ariz., then Glen Ellen, Ill., before returning to Grantham. In April 2006, he moved to Columbia City, Ind., to be near his sister, Sharon Whittaker.

He managed drug stores and worked in the mailroom at Kemp Furniture Factory in Goldsboro.

Surviving relatives include two sisters and a brother, Sharon Whittaker and husband, Homer, of Churubusco, Ind., John Casey of Goldsboro and Ruby Boyette of Goldsboro.
