FOUROAKS -- W.L. Hollowell Jr., 72, passed away Monday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
W.L. was born in Johnston County on July 3, 1936, to the late Wilsie Lee Hollowell Sr. and Rhoda Edwards Hollowell. He was employed by Thurston Motor Lines for 33 years and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Johnston County. W.L. was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bentonville.
W.L. is survived by his wife, Bobbie Flowers Hollowell; his son, Ken Hollowell and wife, Cindy, of Wilson; and two granddaughters, Jessica Hollowell of Greensboro and Jamie Hollowell, of Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, in care of Becky Monson, 550 Bass Road, Four Oaks, N.C., 27524.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home, 3302 Harper House Road, Four Oaks.
Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
