GREENSBORO -- Shirley M. Green went peacefully to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday after a long illness.
Private services will be held in Greensboro.
Born in Jacksonville, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Luberta E. Green.
She attended Dillard High School, class of 1952, and furthered her education by attending Barnes Business School. Shirley also attended Goldsboro Missionary Baptist Church and played for the male choir on various occasions.
Shirley Green is survived by her three children, Jackie Green of California, Donnie Lee of Oregon and Karen LaBoard of Greensboro; and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to be made to Hospice at 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C., 27405, in her name.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who has graciously given their support and made this bereavement easier. We will never forget your kindness and love. The family appreciated all your prayers and kind words of encouragements as we know that death is just like the golden key that opens the portals of eternity.
