MOUNT OLIVE -- Martha Carol Sellars Cashwell, 73, longtime resident of the Smith Chapel community, died Sunday morning at SunBridge Care Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Cashwell was a homemaker and farmer's wife who cared very deeply for her family. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William Guilford "Gill" Cashwell Jr. and Donna Lynn Cashwell of Mount Olive, and Ben Kenneth and Beverly Ann Cashwell of Mount Olive; five grandchildren, Heather Jones, Bethany, Brandon, Brooke and Brittani Cashwell; two brothers-in-law, Robert Beasley of Seven Springs and Harry Lee Cashwell of Mount Olive; and those who provided care and companionship to her during her confining illness, Sherry Dee Harvell, Renee Pope and Lorraine Overman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Guilford "Billy" Cashwell Sr.; an infant grandson, Ben Cashwell; her parents, Ben and Mamie Parker Sellars; a sister, Susie S. Beasley; and a brother, Ben Sellars.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and at other times at the Cashwell residence, 328 Cashwell Hill Road.
