Durwood Lee "Herk" Frizzelle, 49, 725 St. John Church Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Interment will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery.
"Herk" was born Nov. 1, 1959, in Newport News, Va., to the late Paul Frizzelle and Janet Sauls Frizzelle Jones. "Herk" last worked with Goldsboro Milling Company. He enjoyed playing pool and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
"Herk" is survived by his wife, Velma Long Frizzelle; son, Benjamin Lee Sexton and wife, Jamie, of Saulston; sister, Donna Rouse and her fiance, Andy, of Kenly; brother, David Frizzelle and wife, Teresa, of Kinston; four grandchildren, Corey, Callie, Austin and Caleb Sexton; mother-in-law, Jean Long of Goldsboro; and stepfather, Norman Jones of LaGrange.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service, and at other times they will be at the home.
