WILLIA ELIZABETH B. DURHAM

In profound sorrow, McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries and the Bennett-Durham family announces the death of Willia Elizabeth B. "Aunt Sis" Durham, 79, 216 Winslow Circle. Mrs. Durham peacefully passed away Wednesday afternoon surrounded by her nieces and nephews at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Her life service to God and mankind will be celebrated today at 2 at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church with the Rev. Dr. Dwight Cannon officiating. Her mortal remains shall be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Elmwood Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish memories of a well spent life her three nieces, Paula and husband, Jerry Taylor, of Fredericksburg, Va., Clarence Moye-Rhodes of Goldsboro, and Darlene Bennett of Forestville, Md.; three nephews, John and wife, Edith Everette, of Goldsboro, Woodrow and wife, Helena Bell, of Goldsboro and Kelvin Bennett of Baltimore, Md.; 11 great-nieces; seven great-nephews, including Hezekiah III and wife, Terri Jones, J.B. III and wife, Teborah Rhodes, Kenneth and wife, Janelle Jones, and Jamison Bennett Rhodes, all of Goldsboro; 18 great-great-nieces; 10 great-great-nephews; and two great-great-great-nieces; one sister-in-law, Virginia D. McKee of Greensboro; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Sprawre of Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of cousins and dedicated friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held Saturday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. Mrs. Durham laid in state at the church on Saturday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
