Clara Lee Gurley Howell, 83, 1109 Edgerton St., died Tuesday at home.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence. Other funeral arrangements will be announced on Thursday.
She was born in Wayne County on Aug. 19, 1925, to the late Dan and Bessie Capps Gurley.
She is survived by four children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Howell.
