William Handley Jr., 87, 1195 Blankshire Road, Fayetteville, died Sunday at Woodlands Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Wayne County on July 24, 1921, he was the son of the late Will and Eva Casey Handley.
Mr. Handley is survived by a son, William F. Handley and wife, Rebecca, of Grimesland; two daughters, Scottie H. Krupa and husband, Ken, of Salem, Va., Ruth Richter and husband, Charles, of Fayetteville; his former wife, Anne Handley of Goldsboro; his sister, Frances Andrus of Crossville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
